About the project
Meridian was a complete overhaul of an existing e-commerce platform that had been losing ground to competitors. The challenge was to modernize the entire shopping experience without disrupting existing traffic. I rebuilt the frontend with Next.js and server components, designed a custom CMS in Sanity for the marketing team, and integrated Stripe for seamless checkout. The result was a 40% conversion lift within the first quarter, a 60% improvement in page load times, and a design system that the client's team could extend independently.
What needed to change
The existing platform suffered from slow page loads (4s+), a fragmented codebase, and a checkout flow with a 73% abandonment rate. The marketing team had no way to update content without developer involvement.
How it was approached
Rebuilt the entire frontend on Next.js with server components for instant page loads. Designed a headless CMS in Sanity so the marketing team could manage content independently. Integrated Stripe Elements for a streamlined, single-page checkout experience.
What it led to
40% conversion lift in Q1, 60% faster page loads, checkout abandonment dropped to 41%. The marketing team now ships content updates same-day without developer support.
